Peanuts Global Artist Collective via @Friendswithyou & @Snoopy

Faesthetic friends and cover artists Friends With You send word about their collaboration with the Peanuts Global Artist Collective. As an artist, I am super impressed AND jealous of this collaboration. Talk about a fun project!

“We got to play in the language of Charles Schulz and are launching this project that will spread happiness to Snoopy fans far and wide. We will be premiering a mural of the “lil Cloudy Brown” character we developed, located in the Hudson Square neighborhood, right next to the Children’s Museum of the Arts. There will be a reception today from 5 – 6:30pm which will feature a walking tour of the seven public murals, led by the Peanuts team and project curators, Culture Corps. We’re so honored to be included in this project alongside Rob Pruitt, Kenny Scharf, Nina Chanel Abney, Tomokazu Matsuyama, Assume Vivid Astro Focus, and Mr. A. There will be lots of art and specialty products coming soon so keep your eyes peeled.”

“Convergent Visions” Faesthetic x @SXSW – Faesthetic #15 cc: @upso @krening @joncontino @capitalprinting

3:58 am in art,art events,faesthetic,weird,zines dustin hostetler

I am SO INCREDIBLY excited to announce the next issue of Faesthetic, which drops this weekend at SXSW. This issue serves not only as an art zine, but also as a catalog of SXSW’s art programing. From their site:

The idea for “Convergent Visions” took root in the halls of SXSW in 2017. After a mind-boggling keynote delivered by biochemist Jennifer Doudna, Faesthetic publisher Dustin Hostetler and creative director Karen Ingram bumped into Hugh Forrest, Chief Programming Officer of SXSW. This chance meeting sparked a conversation between Karen and Dustin that became a collaborative effort with the SXSW Art Program.

“Convergent Visions” probes various areas in science and technology through an artistic lens. Overarching themes include Design, Health and Wellness, Social Impact and the Intelligent Future become realized through the creativity vibrating and flowing from the minds and fingers of 30 international artists and designers.

New issue will be available for sale online in April. If you’re planning on going to SXSW this year, it will also be available at the merch booths!

Kyle Confehr is rad

Kyle emailed me WAY earlier in the year with a design to be added to the artist banner I have on the top of this blog. Long story short, I never added the design because it’s way too detailed for the format but ALSO, more importantly, I didn’t respond to Kyle.
So first up, Kyle, I am sorry. You are rad and your work is rad, so I am posting the image you made for me in this post. It’s beautiful and deserves an audience.

Thanks dude!

Aaaaaaand we’re back

And when I say we, I really mean me.

Sorry for the radio silence! A lot has been going on behind the scenes both in my work life AND for the next issue of Faesthetic. More to come, but for now I just wanted to say hi!
