Frank Stella: Irregular Polygons @ TMA

I had the awesome pleasure of getting a sneak-peak tour of the “new” Frank Stella exhibit, which opens next week at the Toledo Museum of Art. These pieces were created in 1965-66, and this is the first time the full series of 11 have been shown in the same space. While the work may not seem incredibly ground-breaking by today’s standards, these pieces are in fact incredibly ground-breaking.

I was only able to take a few pictures before I was told to put my camera away. I am absolutely planning on returning for the official opening. This work is too good not to see in person, and if you are ANYwhere near toledo, or can make a road-trip of it, I urge you to check out this work. It’s quite possibly the only time the entire series of Irregular Polygons will be on display.

The museum also provided some amazing cheese… gotta love art!
